Well everybody, they finally lit up the tree at Rockefeller Center this week here in New York, and I think for many it’s the starting point of Christmas in the city that never sleeps. There is nowhere on earth quite like New York at any normal time, but there is something extra special about the city in the run up to Christmas. Once Thanksgiving ends, you start to see Christmas decorations slowly popping up, winter villages spring to life and a few festive tunes fill the stores and radio stations. But as we enter December, everything starts to kick up a notch as everyone gears up for the holiday season.
If you’ve been following along here, then you no doubt know that I’m always on the lookout for new foodie places to try. Living in New York, you’d be crazy not to! I thought I’d share some of my favourites in Brooklyn Heights, a neighbourhood I’ve called home this past year. Brooklyn Heights is a beautiful little section of the city, boasting the the famous promenade along the East River with stunning views of the Manhattan Skyline, close proximity to the Instagramable Brooklyn Bridge, and lots of quaint little streets with a lot of history to them. And of course, it has a many a great eatery, perfect for everything from a fancy dinner to a casual brunch. Read on for some places to check out if you ever find yourself in the area…
Hi Everybody, Hope everyone is good and enjoying the weekend. It’s a long weekend here in the States, as Labor Day falls on Monday. I literally have nothing planned, as I completely forgot it was […]
If you guys know me, or have been following me for a while on this blog and social media, you’ll know it’s no secret that I love finding cafes, diners and restaurants to try out. And living in New York these past few months has literally given me thousands of options to choose from when I have the time.
Today I thought I’d share a few of my favourite places in Noho. Noho, for those of you who may not know, refers to the area north of Houston Street in Manhattan, which is bordered by Mercer Street, Bowery and East 9th Street. It’s an area I find myself in frequently, and it’s one that has a variety of great eateries for whatever your mood. If you’re a theater fan, there are plenty of places to combine dinner and a show with here, including the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Or if you’re feeling full after a feed and in need of a walk, Washington Square park is not far from this neighbourhood too and it really is a gorgeous spot to relax in and get some nice photos.
Here are a few of my favourite places to grab a bite that you should definitely check out if you’re around these parts (in no particular order by the way, they’re all great!):
Happy Monday All, I was thinking yesterday about how quickly the time has flown by here in New York. I’m into my seventh month already!! It’s weird to think that it’s gone that quick, but […]
